## Responsibilities

- Build AI-Assisted Development Experiences: Architect and implement agentic development experiences powering the App Runtime platform across the complete technology stack, including React frontend components, Go backend services, Python automation scripts, and Java integrations. Create intuitive interfaces that leverage Cortex AI capabilities to accelerate application development workflows.
- Author Technical Architecture Specifications: Design comprehensive technical and architectural specifications that evaluate system requirements holistically, considering both frontend user experience and backend scalability. Write detailed design documents that guide implementation and facilitate cross-functional alignment between engineering, design, and product teams.
- Implement Critical Infrastructure Code: Maintain hands-on involvement by writing production-grade code for high-priority features, critical bug fixes, and platform infrastructure improvements. Balance architectural oversight with direct code contributions to ensure quality standards and demonstrate engineering excellence across the stack.
- Drive Customer-Centric Product Development: Engage directly with Snowflake App developers to understand pain points, gather feature requests, and prioritize roadmap items based on real-world customer needs. Translate developer feedback into actionable product improvements and participate in customer interviews to validate product-market fit.
- Establish Quality and Performance Standards: Lead code review initiatives to enforce best practices, security standards, and performance optimization across the App Runtime codebase. Conduct thorough reviews focusing on reliability, scalability, and maintainability while providing constructive feedback that raises engineering capability.

The **App Runtime** team is building a platform that lets every Snowflake user go from an idea to a live, deployed web application (Node.js first) in minutes. We own the end-to-end experience of building and running apps, from Cortex AI-assisted development to deployment in a secure, scalable infrastructure. Apps built on the platform inherit Snowflake's security, governance, lineage, and access controls by default. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will drive initiatives that span our product areas and tech stack. It’s a high-impact role - you will work on an early-stage, public-preview product. Your work will directly shape the product experience developers rely on. This role requires a unique combination of deep hands-on expertise with web frameworks, great UX design instincts, customer obsession and collaboration with backend teams.

**Responsibilities**

* Build the AI-assisted, agentic development experiences that power App Runtime, spanning the full tech stack - React, Go, Python, and Java
* Stay deeply hands-on by authoring technical and design specs that consider the system holistically (frontend and backend) and implementing critical code
* Partner directly with customers, i.e. developers building Snowflake Apps, translating their needs into features and improvements
* Raise the bar for quality, reliability and performance through code review; mentor engineers
* Coordinate closely with sister teams such as Cortex AI, Container Platform or Security

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Master’s or higher is preferred but not a requirement
* 5+ years of experience including significant experience in frontend or full-stack software development, with a demonstrated track record of designing, shipping and operating high-scale systems
* Deep understanding of modern web application architecture (e.g. React, NextJS), good API design patterns, security, performance and scale; proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, ideally also in Go, Python and/or Java
* Good communication skills: crisp write-ups, constructive debate, and ability to drive consensus across engineering, design and product

**Nice to have:**

* Experience shipping 0-1 products where you skillfully balanced the trade-offs between feature completeness and time-to-market
* Experience with multi-tenant systems (ideally app hosting platforms or tooling for developers) with strong isolation and a security-first posture
