The role

Summary

Benchling seeks an experienced Software Engineer for its Platform team, focusing on Developer Experience and infrastructure improvements. The role is critical in creating scalable tooling and frameworks that enhance engineering productivity, with a key emphasis on streamlining the path to production and enabling efficient software development workflows.

What you'll do

Developer Tooling: Build and implement efficient tooling for development, testing, and production release processes
Release Optimization: Lead design of release tooling to enable code changes to reach production within 10 minutes
Continuous Improvement: Iterate on developer experience improvements using qualitative and quantitative feedback
Quality Integration: Implement feedback loops that integrate quality into software development workflows
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to enhance software development experience

What we look for

Technical

Containerization5+ years of experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments
Web FrameworksExpertise in at least one web framework, preferably Node.js or Python
Problem SolvingStrong abilities in problem-solving and iterative feedback implementation

Education

Computer Science/Software EngineeringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Software Engineering7+ years of comprehensive software engineering experience
