Summary

Confluent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II for their Kora Compute team, focusing on building a highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-native event streaming platform. The ideal candidate will be a passionate engineer with strong distributed systems expertise, capable of solving complex infrastructure challenges and driving technical solutions end-to-end.

What you'll do

Distributed Systems Development: Design, architect, and develop highly available and reliable compute layer for Kora's cloud-native event streaming platform

Technical Solution Design: Drive end-to-end technical solutions, working closely with team and stakeholders to create innovative infrastructure solutions

System Performance Optimization: Focus on delivering complex projects in production with a strong emphasis on quality, performance, and scalability

Customer-Centric Problem Solving: Take on challenging customer problems, identifying root causes and developing comprehensive solutions

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go, or other statically typed languages

Cloud InfrastructureExperience building and operating large-scale systems in Cloud environments

Distributed SystemsStrong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development

Education

Academic QualificationBS, MS, or PhD in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience

Cloud Experience4+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure/cloud networking experience

Distributed SystemsDeep understanding of distributed systems architecture and development

Cloud TechnologiesExpertise in cloud infrastructure and networking
