The role

Summary

Cursor is seeking a hands-on Regional Director of Field Engineering to lead and scale a high-impact pre-sales team within a specific industry vertical. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial drive to build and develop a field engineering practice that supports complex enterprise sales motions.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and scale a team of Field Engineers supporting enterprise opportunities within a specific industry vertical
Sales Enablement: Partner closely with Sales leadership to drive high-quality technical discovery, demos, and proofs of concept with strategic and Fortune 500 accounts
Vertical Practice Building: Own the 0-to-1 build-out of the vertical Field Engineering practice, including field events, industry-specific collateral, and customer stories
Customer Engagement: Serve as an escalation point for complex customer evaluations and high-stakes enterprise deals
Talent Development: Hire, onboard, and develop top-tier Field Engineering talent with relevant vertical experience
Product Insights: Act as the voice of the field internally, providing vertical-specific customer and prospect insights to Product and Engineering teams

Industry ExpertiseDeep knowledge of specific industry vertical (High Tech, Retail, Life Sciences, Financial Services, Public Sector, Aerospace, or Healthcare)

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Leadership Experience3+ years leading Field Engineers, Solutions Architects, or Pre-Sales teams focused on strategic/Fortune 500 accounts
Enterprise Sales ExperienceProven track record of engaging technical buyers, developers, architects, and C-level executives in complex industries
