Summary

DailyPay is seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer in Belfast to join their innovative worktech platform team. The role focuses on developing scalable microservices using Go, AWS, and cloud-native technologies, with opportunities to drive impactful solutions in financial technology and improve employee payment systems.

What you'll do

Backend Service Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using microservices architecture
Architecture Optimization: Contribute to microservices transition, designing event-driven architectures and optimizing system performance
Database Performance: Optimize database performance and data structures for high-traffic, real-time applications
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives
Technical Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive best practices in Golang development

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Go, Java, or C++; strong preference for Go
Cloud InfrastructureExperience with AWS, Docker, and cloud-native technologies
Database TechnologiesKnowledge of Postgres and database performance optimization
Event-Driven ArchitecturesUnderstanding of Kafka or similar message broker platforms

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Development ExperienceMinimum 2 years of experience in developing and deploying applications
Infrastructure KnowledgeFamiliarity with databases, API layers, load balancers, and deployment mechanisms

Go ProgrammingStrong coding skills in Go with ability to write maintainable, high-quality code
MicroservicesExperience designing and developing microservices architectures
Cloud TechnologiesProficiency with cloud infrastructure and deployment technologies

Agile MethodologiesUnderstanding of Agile or Kanban/Lean software development practices
Infrastructure as CodeExperience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools
