The role

Summary

Gecko Robotics is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure to enhance their government cloud architecture and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will develop robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, automate complex cloud environments, and enable seamless, secure deployments for high-compliance government customers.

What you'll do

Government Cloud Infrastructure: Own and architect government-specific infrastructure with a focus on creating automated, secure, and scalable cloud environments
Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules and shared libraries to standardize and simplify cloud deployments across different environments
Cloud Environment Abstraction: Create solutions that abstract complex cloud compliance regulations, reducing cognitive load for development teams
DevOps Tool Management: Optimize and manage DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, authentication, and permission management systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Software Platform team to improve software development velocity and deployment processes

Technical

Cloud PlatformsExtensive experience with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Infrastructure as CodeProficiency in Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code technologies
ContainerizationExperience building and maintaining containerized applications using Docker
Scripting and AutomationStrong automation and scripting skills with Linux and command-line tools

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Cloud Infrastructure5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and management
Government SectorExperience working with government or DoD infrastructure a strong plus
