Summary

Hopper is seeking a Senior Front-end Engineer for their Stays & Packages team, focusing on building scalable travel commerce experiences. The role involves architecting frontend solutions for global travel portals, working with cutting-edge technologies to create performant and user-friendly booking platforms.

What you'll do

Frontend Architecture: Architect scalable front-end solutions that enable efficient launch of new travel portals and booking experiences
Product Development: Build complete features from UX to database, focusing on performance, usability, and long-term maintainability
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work directly with Product Managers and business partners to define and refine product roadmaps
Performance Optimization: Implement advanced performance techniques including lazy loading, code-splitting, and caching strategies
Technical Leadership: Drive technical decisions asynchronously with comprehensive documentation and thoughtful consensus-building

Technical

React ExpertiseDeep knowledge of modern React patterns, functional components, hooks, and server-side rendering
TypeScriptProficiency in TypeScript with enterprise-scale application development experience
CSS Advanced SkillsAdvanced CSS knowledge including Tailwind, SCSS, CSS-in-JS, and complex animations

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Frontend PerformanceProven experience in optimizing frontend performance and implementing advanced optimization techniques
Complex Product FlowsBackground in developing complex product flows in e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or fintech applications
