Summary

Hopper is seeking a Senior Front-end Engineer for their Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) Stays & Packages team, focusing on building scalable travel commerce platforms. The role involves creating innovative booking experiences across multiple partner portals, with a strong emphasis on frontend architecture, performance optimization, and user experience design.

What you'll do

Frontend Architecture: Architect scalable front-end solutions that enable efficient launching of new travel portals and booking experiences
Product Development: Build comprehensive booking flows, search experiences, and checkout journeys for hotel and package travel products
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with Product Managers and business partners to define and refine product roadmaps
Performance Optimization: Implement advanced performance strategies including lazy loading, code-splitting, and caching to enhance frontend efficiency
Platform Engineering: Develop multi-tenant travel commerce capabilities that power global travel booking platforms

Technical

React ExpertiseDeep knowledge of modern React patterns, including functional components, hooks, server-side rendering, and advanced state management
TypeScriptProficiency in TypeScript with enterprise-scale application development experience
Frontend ToolingExperience with contemporary frontend tools like React Query, Tailwind, Vite, and monorepo architectures

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Complex Product FlowsProven experience in developing intricate product flows in e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or fintech domains
Performance EngineeringDemonstrated ability to optimize frontend performance and implement advanced caching strategies
