The role

Summary

Knot is seeking a Senior/Staff Infrastructure Engineer to architect and manage critical cloud-based network infrastructure for their innovative financial connectivity platform. The ideal candidate will lead infrastructure design, maintain high-performance API systems, and drive technical excellence in a fast-paced startup environment focused on merchant and banking connectivity solutions.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Architecture: Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network infrastructure that supports high-performance API services handling hundreds of requests per second
Technical Leadership: Lead technical decision-making, provide design justifications, and coordinate infrastructure strategies across engineering teams
System Reliability: Maintain and support infrastructure to ensure high service availability, manage technical incidents, and implement robust monitoring and escalation processes
Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and evolve infrastructure needs, identifying long-term architectural requirements and opportunities for optimization

What we look for

Technical

Cloud TechnologiesExtensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
Programming LanguagesProficiency in Go or TypeScript, with strong understanding of gRPC and Protobuf communication protocols
Network EngineeringDeep knowledge of network primitives, IP converged networks, VPC configurations, load balancers, and IAM role management

Education

DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Industry Experience6+ years of network engineering experience, preferably in a startup environment

Required skills

Cloud InfrastructureAdvanced skills in designing and managing cloud infrastructure using GCP and Kubernetes
Infrastructure AutomationProven track record of automating infrastructure and deployment processes using tools like Terraform
