Summary

Notion is seeking an experienced Data Engineer for their Go-To-Market team in San Francisco, focusing on building robust data pipelines and integrating business systems to support critical marketing and sales analytics. The ideal candidate will design scalable data solutions, democratize data access, and drive insights across cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and monitor scalable data pipelines that can handle growing data volumes and meet critical business reporting needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, Business Technology, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to support reporting and analysis requirements
Data Integration: Create core datasets serving as sources of truth for Notion's marketing and sales reporting, integrating data from various business systems and product sources
Data Democratization: Help make high-quality data accessible across go-to-market teams, staff, and the entire company

What we look for

Technical

Cloud PlatformsHands-on experience with cloud solutions like AWS, GCP, or Azure
Data StorageProficiency with multiple data stores such as Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, SQL/NoSQL databases
SQL ExpertiseAdvanced SQL skills including aggregation functions, window functions, UDFs, self-joins, and query optimization

Education

Relevant DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Data Engineering Experience3+ years building core datasets and supporting business verticals, preferably in high-volume data environments
SaaS Business SystemsExperience integrating with business systems like Salesforce, Netsuite, Marketo, Zendesk

Skills

Required skills

SQLExpert-level SQL with complex query capabilities
Data ModelingExperience with dimensional modeling, data marts, star/snowflake schemas
ProgrammingObject-oriented programming in Python, Java, or Scala
