Summary

Notion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Data Infrastructure team in Hyderabad, India. The role focuses on managing and improving data engineering infrastructure, involving critical work with AWS services, Snowflake, and Airflow to enhance platform reliability, observability, and CI/CD tooling.

What you'll do

Infrastructure as Code Management: Manage and improve Terraform stacks for AWS and Snowflake resources, ensuring proper tracking, modularization, and security of infrastructure components.
CI/CD Pipeline Enhancement: Develop and harden continuous integration and deployment pipelines with advanced features like alerting, test validation, and deployment guardrails.
Compute Infrastructure Management: Set up, maintain, and scale EMR clusters and future EKS environments, monitoring cluster health and optimizing resource allocation.
Platform Observability: Configure comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding systems to ensure platform health and rapid issue detection.
Operational Support: Provide critical operational coverage during India hours, triaging DAG failures, infrastructure alerts, and platform incidents.

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureExtensive hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly EMR, S3, Athena, and EKS
Infrastructure as CodeProven expertise with Terraform, including managing large infrastructure stacks and complex modularization
Programming SkillsStrong proficiency in Python and SQL, with object-oriented programming capabilities

Education

Computer Science or Related FieldBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline

Experience

DevOps ExperienceMinimum 7 years of software or infrastructure engineering experience with strong DevOps background
Data Platform ExpertiseProven experience in data platform or infrastructure domains

AWS ServicesComprehensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure services like EMR, S3, Athena
