The role

Summary

OpenAI's ChatGPT Growth team seeks a Full Stack Software Engineer to drive user acquisition and retention through high-impact growth initiatives, including account optimization, SEO, and viral features. This role combines data analysis, product ideation, and full-stack development to scale ChatGPT's global user base while working across research, product, design, and data science teams.

What you'll do

Growth Strategy Development: Drive long-term growth of ChatGPT through data analysis, product ideation, and experimentation to optimize user acquisition and retention experiences
Backend API Development: Plan and deploy robust backend APIs necessary to power growth-focused product experiences and user funnel optimization
Cross-functional Collaboration: Execute projects by working closely with research, product, design, data science, and other product teams to achieve measurable impact on growth goals
A/B Test Implementation: Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests with scientific rigor to validate growth hypotheses and optimize conversion rates
User Funnel Optimization: Build and optimize web features including landing pages, product pages, purchase flows, and search experiences to improve conversion rates
SEO and Discoverability: Implement technical SEO improvements and content optimization strategies to increase organic user acquisition
Data-Driven Decision Making: Track and analyze business metrics and KPIs to identify growth opportunities and measure feature success
Growth Infrastructure: Build scalable systems for notifications, account management, and viral features that support millions of users
Culture Building: Create a diverse and inclusive team culture that fosters radical candor and challenges group-think in growth strategy discussions

A/B Testing ExpertiseHands-on experience designing, implementing, and analyzing A/B tests with statistical significance and proper experimental design
Web Performance OptimizationExperience with SEO, page load optimization, and user experience improvements that drive growth metrics

Education
