Summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for its Cloud Agents team to design and scale advanced cloud agent infrastructure. The role focuses on building robust, secure, and scalable platforms that enable product engineers to develop cutting-edge AI technologies across ChatGPT, API, and Codex products.

What you'll do

Cloud Agent Platform Design: Design and scale orchestration, sandboxing, and storage systems for agentic workloads across Codex, ChatGPT, and OpenAI API platforms
Platform Engineering: Collaborate with product engineers to develop robust infrastructure that accelerates product development and enables rapid iteration
System Optimization: Enhance reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency of long-running cloud agent systems
Multi-Environment Deployment: Develop services capable of operating across diverse cloud environments and infrastructure

What we look for

Technical

Backend LanguagesProficiency in Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, or similar backend programming languages
Distributed SystemsStrong understanding of distributed systems architecture and cloud platform technologies
Infrastructure DesignExperience in designing and implementing large-scale platform and infrastructure projects

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience9+ years of professional engineering experience in technology and product-driven companies
Project LeadershipDemonstrated ability to lead complex infrastructure projects from concept to production
