Summary

OpenAI's Codex Core Agents team is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to develop critical infrastructure for AI agent systems. The role focuses on building robust, scalable execution environments that enable safe, efficient, and intelligent code generation and agent interactions at the cutting edge of AI technology.

What you'll do

Execution Environment Design: Design and build secure, isolated execution environments for AI agents with focus on sandboxing, reproducibility, and safety.
Agent Orchestration: Develop sophisticated systems for managing multi-step, tool-integrated workflows across AI agents.
Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize production performance metrics including tokens, latency, reliability, cost, and system capacity for Codex agent fleet.
Platform Development: Create shared infrastructure capabilities that enable product teams, partner teams, and open-source Codex development.
Model Rollout Support: Manage technical complexities of model deployments, balancing quality, speed, and economic considerations at scale.

Education
