The role

Summary

Panoptyc is seeking an experienced QA Engineering Manager to lead and transform their quality assurance practices. The ideal candidate will drive test automation, mentor a high-performing QA team, and embed a quality-first mindset across the organization's software development lifecycle.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow the QA team by setting priorities, providing constructive feedback, and supporting career development initiatives
Test Automation Strategy: Lead and evolve the test automation framework with a focus on Playwright, designing comprehensive end-to-end, integration, and regression test suites
Quality Engineering Culture: Champion a proactive quality engineering mindset across the organization, emphasizing shift-left testing and making quality a collective responsibility
Collaborative Planning: Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define acceptance criteria, testability requirements, and participate in code reviews and release planning
Continuous Improvement: Identify test coverage gaps, drive continuous improvement in testing practices, and own QA team capacity planning and performance

Test Automation ToolsAdvanced proficiency with Playwright or similar modern test automation frameworks
CI/CD IntegrationHands-on experience integrating automated tests into deployment workflows and CI/CD pipelines
Test Code QualityAbility to write clean, maintainable test code with strong software engineering principles

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

QA Team ManagementMinimum 5+ years of experience managing or leading a QA team with a proven track record of engineer development
Quality EngineeringDemonstrated expertise in designing comprehensive test strategies and implementing robust quality assurance processes

PlaywrightDeep hands-on experience with Playwright test automation framework
Problem SolvingExceptional debugging and problem-solving skills with a critical eye for identifying potential issues
