Summary

Plaid is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design and build scalable systems that power financial data connectivity. The ideal candidate will work across the technology stack, developing both backend services and frontend experiences that enable innovative financial applications, with a focus on creating secure, performant, and user-friendly solutions.

What you'll do

Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components with a 60-70% focus on backend services and 30-40% on frontend experiences

API and Service Development: Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and microservices that power financial data connectivity

Collaborative Product Development: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define and implement new features that meet product and customer needs

Code Quality and Testing: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with comprehensive automated testing to ensure reliability and performance

Problem Solving: Take ownership of technical challenges, contribute to architectural decisions, and develop innovative solutions with potential to impact millions of users

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js with strong coding and testing skills

Web TechnologiesAdvanced working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks and libraries

Database SkillsExperience with MySQL and other relational database systems

Architecture SkillsUnderstanding of microservices architecture and API design principles

Education

Educational BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Development Experience2-4 years of full-stack development experience

Technical OwnershipDemonstrated ability to take initiative and solve complex problems with minimal precedent
