The role

Summary

The TechOps Engineer at Plaid is responsible for managing and scaling corporate infrastructure systems that support a 1,000+ person organization. This role requires expertise in identity and access management via Okta, macOS device management using tools like Kandji or Iru, and infrastructure-as-code practices. You'll own critical systems including Google Workspace, Slack, Linear, and endpoint management while collaborating with Security and Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure reliability, automation, and security compliance across Plaid's global offices.

What you'll do

Identity and Access Management: Own and improve Okta configuration including lifecycle policies, access reviews, multi-factor authentication (MFA) enforcement, and Workflows automation. Ensure secure identity governance across all organizational systems.
Endpoint Device Management: Manage macOS endpoint configuration through Kandji or Iru with preference for policy-as-code and version-controlled configurations. Maintain deployment standards and security postures across the entire device fleet.
Automation and Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain automation infrastructure that reduces repetitive support burden. Leverage Bash, Python, and infrastructure-as-code principles to create self-service systems and eliminate manual processes.
AI Tooling Integration: Evaluate, deploy, and support AI-powered tools (such as Claude Code or similar solutions) that enhance team productivity and improve operational efficiency across infrastructure systems.
SaaS Platform Operations: Actively own and support company-wide SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Linear, Slack, and Okta. Handle SaaS procurement, license management, renewals, and platform administration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Security, and Go-To-Market teams on planned work that crosses into TechOps systems or areas of expertise. Ensure infrastructure aligns with security requirements and business objectives.
On-Call Support Rotation: Participate in weekly on-call rotation providing incident response and troubleshooting for infrastructure systems. This role emphasizes prevention and automation over reactive break-fix activities.
