Summary

As a Data Cloud Architect in Applied Field Engineering at Snowflake, you'll provide hands-on technical expertise to design and architect enterprise analytical solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud platform. This strategic Solution Engineering role partners with technical decision makers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of Snowflake's capabilities, with particular focus on data-intensive applications, cloud architecture, and customer success across the Americas region.

What you'll do

Strategic Solution Design and Technical Architecture: Design and architect data-intensive analytical solutions built on the Snowflake Data Cloud, providing hands-on technical expertise to enterprise clients. Work closely with technical decision makers to translate business requirements into scalable cloud architecture, ensuring solutions align with industry best practices for data warehousing and analytics. Develop comprehensive architectural documentation and system design specifications that guide implementation teams.
Client Technical Consultation and Discovery: Conduct in-depth discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand their specific technical requirements, success metrics, and analytical use cases. Articulate Snowflake's strategic advantages and technical capabilities while performing competitive analysis against alternative platforms. Identify and address gaps between Snowflake's methodologies and client-specific requirements, providing solutions that bridge organizational and technical needs.
Proof of Concept (POC) Execution and Customer Success: Partner with Snowflake account teams and customer champions to scope, design, and drive POCs to successful completion. Deliver technical wins that quantify and demonstrate the business value of Snowflake's capabilities, including executive readouts, ROI calculations, and comprehensive business value cases that accelerate customer adoption and sales progression.
Demonstrations and Technical Presentations: Develop and deliver bespoke demonstrations that showcase Snowflake's value proposition tailored to specific client requirements and analytics use cases. Conduct whiteboarding sessions and formal readouts to both technical and executive audiences. Articulate complex topics including security, privacy, governance, and application functionalities in accessible yet comprehensive ways that resonate with diverse stakeholder groups.
Security, Governance, and Compliance Architecture: Demonstrate deep expertise in Snowflake's security, privacy, and governance considerations for data applications. Architect solutions that meet enterprise compliance requirements, data residency needs, and organizational security policies. Provide technical leadership in addressing client concerns around data protection, access controls, and regulatory compliance within cloud analytics environments.
Field Organization Support and Scaling Impact: Function as the principal technical authority and thought leader within the field organization, providing support and guidance to sales teams and solution engineers. Publish technical content including blog posts, conference presentations, technical notebooks, and reusable demos that scale the team's capabilities beyond individual efforts and establish Snowflake as an industry authority in data cloud solutions.

Data-Intensive Application Architecture5+ years of professional experience designing and implementing large-scale, data-intensive application architectures. Advanced SQL and Data Modeling5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL development and advanced data modeling techniques. Education

Cloud Data Warehouse ExperienceProven background with modern cloud data warehouse platforms and analytics solutions.
