Summary

Senior Full Stack Engineer responsible for driving AI-native development experiences on Snowflake's App Runtime platform. This high-impact role spans the entire tech stack (React, Go, Python, Java) and requires deep hands-on expertise with modern web frameworks, strong backend collaboration capabilities, and a track record of shipping scalable systems. You'll directly shape the platform that enables developers to deploy web applications in minutes while inheriting Snowflake's world-class security and governance by default.

What you'll do

Build AI-Assisted Development Experiences: Architect and implement agentic development experiences powering the App Runtime platform across the complete technology stack, including React frontend components, Go backend services, Python automation scripts, and Java integrations. Create intuitive interfaces that leverage Cortex AI capabilities to accelerate application development workflows.

Author Technical Architecture Specifications: Design comprehensive technical and architectural specifications that evaluate system requirements holistically, considering both frontend user experience and backend scalability. Write detailed design documents that guide implementation and facilitate cross-functional alignment between engineering, design, and product teams.

Implement Critical Infrastructure Code: Maintain hands-on involvement by writing production-grade code for high-priority features, critical bug fixes, and platform infrastructure improvements. Balance architectural oversight with direct code contributions to ensure quality standards and demonstrate engineering excellence across the stack.

Drive Customer-Centric Product Development: Engage directly with Snowflake App developers to understand pain points, gather feature requests, and prioritize roadmap items based on real-world customer needs. Translate developer feedback into actionable product improvements and participate in customer interviews to validate product-market fit.

Establish Quality and Performance Standards: Lead code review initiatives to enforce best practices, security standards, and performance optimization across the App Runtime codebase. Conduct thorough reviews focusing on reliability, scalability, and maintainability while providing constructive feedback that raises engineering capability.

Mentor and Develop Engineering Talent: Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers on the team, fostering skill development in full-stack architecture, distributed systems, and customer-focused product thinking. Provide career guidance and create opportunities for engineers to lead high-impact technical initiatives.

Coordinate Cross-Functional Platform Integration: Work closely with sister teams including Cortex AI, Container Platform, and Security organizations to ensure seamless platform integration. Facilitate technical discussions, resolve integration challenges, and align on shared infrastructure requirements.

5+ Years of Full-Stack or Frontend DevelopmentMinimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience with significant focus on frontend development, full-stack engineering, or both. Demonstrated progression from mid-level to senior-level responsibilities with increasing scope and impact.

High-Scale System Design and DeploymentProven track record of designing, shipping, and operating production systems that serve thousands to millions of users. Experience navigating complex trade-offs between performance, reliability, feature velocity, and maintainability at scale.

Product-Focused Development ExperienceBackground shipping customer-facing products where you balanced technical excellence with time-to-market constraints. Experience working in fast-moving environments, iterating on features based on user feedback, and making data-driven product decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and CommunicationDemonstrated ability to work effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineers. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with examples of driving alignment across teams and influencing technical decisions through compelling documentation and presentation.

0-to-1 Product Development (Preferred)Experience building early-stage products from concept to public availability, where you skillfully managed the tension between feature completeness and rapid market entry. Ideally having contributed to products in early preview or beta stages.

Multi-Tenant Platform Architecture (Preferred)Background building or contributing to multi-tenant systems, developer tools, app hosting platforms, or SaaS infrastructure.
