What you'll do.

Join Snowflake's Marketplace team as a Full Stack Software Engineer to build next-generation data discovery and AI-powered collaboration platforms. This high-impact role requires 2-5 years of full-stack development experience with TypeScript, React, Java, Go, or Python to design scalable, customer-centric features that power the global data and AI revolution. You'll work collaboratively across product, design, and engineering teams to architect robust systems serving millions of enterprise customers while contributing to the technical direction of a rapidly scaling platform.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Feature Development: Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end features across frontend and backend systems that directly impact customers and marketplace partners. Take ownership of features from conception through production deployment, ensuring exceptional user experience and system reliability across the Snowflake Marketplace platform.
  • Collaborative Cross-Functional Partnerships: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and peer engineers to define requirements, architect solutions, and deliver cohesive features. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions to maintain engineering excellence and align technical decisions with product strategy.
  • Scalable System Architecture: Build and optimize high-performance backend services and frontend components that handle massive scale across global enterprise customers. Design systems that prioritize reliability, performance optimization, and maintainability while supporting rapid iteration and feature deployment.
  • Code Quality and Engineering Excellence: Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices in software engineering. Contribute to the development of coding standards, testing frameworks, and documentation practices that elevate the entire engineering team's output and technical culture.
  • Technical Leadership and Direction: Be a strong contributor to overall product and technical direction of the Marketplace platform. Identify opportunities for architectural improvements, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the engineering strategy that supports business growth and customer success.
  • Security and Performance Optimization: Apply deep understanding of security best practices, performance optimization, and scalability patterns to build enterprise-grade systems. Conduct performance profiling, optimize database queries, and implement security controls that protect customer data while maintaining system responsiveness.

Technical

  • Frontend Development Proficiency

    Demonstrated expertise with TypeScript and React, including component architecture, state management (Redux/Context), React hooks, and performance optimization. Ability to build responsive, accessible user interfaces that work seamlessly across browsers and devices.

  • Backend Development Experience

    Production experience building microservices or API-driven backends using one or more languages: Java, Go, or Python. Familiarity with REST API design, asynchronous processing, and backend service architecture patterns.

  • Full-Stack Web Application Architecture

    Strong understanding of modern web application architecture including client-server communication, HTTP protocols, request/response cycles, session management, and data flow patterns between frontend and backend systems.

  • Database and Data Management

    Hands-on experience designing and optimizing database schemas, writing efficient SQL queries, and understanding relational database principles. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts is a plus given Snowflake's domain.

  • Core Computer Science Fundamentals

    Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and computational thinking. Ability to reason about system design tradeoffs, optimize performance bottlenecks, and debug complex technical issues systematically.

  • Web Security and Performance Patterns

    Understanding of common web security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), secure coding practices, and performance optimization techniques. Knowledge of caching strategies, CDN usage, and frontend/backend performance profiling tools.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Equivalent professional experience and demonstrated technical proficiency through portfolio/open-source contributions can substitute for traditional degree requirements.

Experience

  • 2-5 Years of Professional Development

    2-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience designing and building production-grade web applications at technology-driven companies. Experience scaling applications to handle millions of users or massive data volumes is highly valuable.

  • Scalable Web Application Experience

    Demonstrated experience building scalable web applications with clear focus on user experience, performance, and reliability. Portfolio of shipped features or products that have directly impacted customers is strongly preferred.

  • Full-Stack Ownership

    Experience owning features end-to-end from requirements through production, including frontend implementation, backend API development, database design, testing, and deployment. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and deployment pipelines.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    Track record of working effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineers in fast-paced environments. Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required

  • TypeScript

    Advanced proficiency in TypeScript for type-safe JavaScript development, including generics, interfaces, and advanced type patterns. Experience with TypeScript tooling, build systems, and integration with modern frontend frameworks.

  • React

    Expert-level React development including functional components, hooks, state management, performance optimization, and testing. Familiarity with React ecosystem tools like Next.js, React Query, or similar frameworks.

  • Backend Development (Java, Go, or Python)

    Production experience with at least one backend language: Java (Spring framework), Go (Gin, Echo), or Python (FastAPI, Django). Ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.

  • SQL and Database Design

    Strong SQL writing skills including complex queries, joins, and optimization. Understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies for performance.

  • Version Control and Git

    Proficiency with Git version control including branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows. Comfortable with modern git workflows and pull request processes.

  • Web Application Security

    Understanding of common web vulnerabilities and secure coding practices including authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection mechanisms appropriate for enterprise applications.

  • Data Platform or Analytics Experience

    Nice to have

    Previous experience building data analytics platforms, data warehousing solutions, or working with large-scale data processing systems. Familiarity with data cataloging, metadata management, or data governance concepts.

  • Marketplace or Platform Architecture

    Nice to have

    Experience designing and building marketplace platforms, multi-tenant systems, or partner/customer ecosystem platforms. Understanding of network effects and platform scaling considerations.

  • Cloud Platform Expertise

    Nice to have

    Experience working with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) including services like compute, storage, databases, and networking. Familiarity with cloud-native architecture patterns and serverless computing.

  • Containerization and Orchestration

    Nice to have

    Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration for deploying scalable microservices. Understanding of container security and best practices for containerized applications.

  • AI/ML Integration

    Nice to have

    Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into user-facing applications. Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM APIs, or ML inference serving for production systems.

AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

  • A strong understanding of core computer science concepts and web application architecture, including security, performance, and scalability.
