What you'll do.
Join Snowflake's Security team in Warsaw as an Intern to gain hands-on experience building enterprise-grade, secure cloud systems. This paid, full-time 4-month+ internship focuses on security engineering across application security, infrastructure security, threat detection, and compliance domains. You'll work with world-class security experts on real customer-impacting projects, developing Python/Java security tooling, vulnerability remediation, and ML/AI-driven threat detection while learning cloud infrastructure security on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Security Tooling Development: Design and develop security automation tools and utilities using Python and Java to enhance Snowflake's security infrastructure, focusing on scalability and reliability at cloud scale.
- Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation: Identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities in Snowflake's distributed systems and cloud platform, working across large-scale enterprise infrastructure.
- Threat Detection Implementation: Contribute to building ML/AI-driven threat detection and response systems, including anomaly detection algorithms and threat intelligence integration.
- Cloud Security Operations: Work on cloud infrastructure security posture management, Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, and security configurations across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
- Compliance and Policy Automation: Develop compliance automation solutions and policy enforcement mechanisms to ensure Snowflake meets regulatory and governance requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product management and engineering teams to design and deliver customer-facing security features that directly impact Snowflake's data warehouse platform.

Technical
Python or Java Proficiency
Strong programming skills in at least one of these languages, with ability to write clean, maintainable code and understand object-oriented principles.
Data Structures and Algorithms
Solid foundation in core data structures (arrays, linked lists, trees, graphs, hash tables) and algorithm design patterns, including complexity analysis and optimization techniques.
ML/AI Concepts
Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals, supervised/unsupervised learning, and basic neural networks is a significant plus for threat detection and anomaly detection work.
English Language Proficiency
Working proficiency in English for collaboration in our English-language team environment, including technical documentation and team communications.
Education
Active University Enrollment
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university program during the entire internship period.
Relevant Academic Major
Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or closely related fields that provide strong foundational knowledge in computational theory.
Required Coursework
Completion of or concurrent enrollment in core computer science courses: algorithms, data structures, and operating systems. These form the foundation for understanding distributed systems security.
Recommended Advanced Courses
Prior or concurrent exposure to information security, cryptography, cloud computing, database systems, or distributed systems coursework will accelerate your contribution to the team.
