Summary

Snowflake is seeking a talented Software Engineer for its Metadata team in Berlin, focusing on building high-scale, distributed systems that power the company's AI Data Cloud. The role involves designing and developing critical infrastructure for metadata management, supporting trillions of daily requests with a focus on performance, scalability, and system reliability.

What you'll do

System Design: Design and develop highly-parallel, fault-tolerant database systems with decentralized caching

Infrastructure Development: Implement core infrastructure features including APIs, DDL transactions, and logs

Performance Optimization: Analyze and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks in distributed systems

Advanced Features: Develop advanced metadata features like cloning, time travel, and snapshots

Operational Readiness: Ensure service availability, performance, and meet customer commitments

Education

Computer Science DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science required; Master's or PhD preferred
