What you'll do.

Teamworks is seeking a Software Engineer II (Frontend) to own the React and TypeScript modernization of AMS (Athlete Management System), a mission-critical platform trusted by elite sports organizations and military programs worldwide. In this role, you'll build complex, data-intensive UI components including interactive grids, dashboards, and forms using AG Grid and SurveyJS, while integrating RESTful APIs with Tanstack Query. You'll have clear ownership of the frontend layer, work closely with backend engineering and design teams, and directly impact how coaches and performance staff manage athlete data, medical records, and readiness metrics across global organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Own AMS Frontend Architecture: Take end-to-end ownership of the React and TypeScript frontend codebase, building and shipping features from design through production deployment, establishing architectural patterns and best practices for the modernization initiative.
  • Build Data-Intensive UI Components: Design and implement complex interactive components including data grids, multi-step forms, performance dashboards, and analytics widgets using AG Grid and SurveyJS, optimizing for handling large datasets and maintaining responsive performance.
  • Manage Application State and Forms: Implement and maintain robust application state management using React Context or Zustand, build dynamic form-building functionality using SurveyJS, and ensure seamless data flow across the AMS interface.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs: Integrate frontend components with RESTful backend APIs using Tanstack Query, implement efficient async data fetching patterns, manage caching strategies, and partner with backend engineers to optimize data flows for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with design teams to translate complex data workflows into intuitive, accessible, and responsive user experiences; coordinate with backend engineering to align on API contracts and technical decisions; participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
  • Contribute to Code Quality: Participate in peer code reviews, advocate for testing best practices, maintain code quality standards, and mentor team members on React and TypeScript patterns while working effectively across timezone gaps with Australia-based team members.

  • React and TypeScript

    3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in React and TypeScript, including component design patterns, hooks, lifecycle management, and type-safe development practices.

  • Complex Data-Driven UI Development

    Proven production experience building complex, data-intensive components including interactive data grids, multi-step forms, dashboards, and analytics widgets that efficiently handle large datasets.

  • RESTful API Integration

    Solid experience integrating RESTful APIs into frontend applications with deep understanding of async data fetching patterns, error handling, and state synchronization between client and server.

  • Modern Build Tooling and DevOps

    Working knowledge of modern frontend build tooling including RsPack and pnpm, with hands-on experience shipping features in CI/CD environments, managing dependencies, and optimizing build performance.

  • AG Grid and SurveyJS

    Experience implementing and maintaining AG Grid for complex data tables, interactive grids, and custom columns; familiarity with SurveyJS for dynamic form-building functionality in production applications.

  • Async State Management

    Proficiency with modern state management solutions including React Context and Zustand for managing application state, alongside experience with Tanstack Query for server state synchronization.

Education

  • Computer Science Foundation

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong fundamentals in software architecture and system design.

    Minimum 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with proven track record of shipping React and TypeScript features to production in fast-paced, agile environments.

I'm Rom Paras, Senior Manager, Engineering at Teamworks. AMS (Athlete Management System) is a core product in the Teamworks Performance suite, used by elite sports organizations and high-performance military programs as their single source of truth for physical performance data, medical records, and athlete readiness. We're investing seriously in modernizing the platform, and we're growing the team with a frontend engineer who can take real ownership of the React layer as we build the next generation of AMS.

In this role, you'll be the primary frontend engineer on AMS, building the interactive, data-intensive interfaces that coaches, trainers, and performance staff rely on every day. You'll work closely with backend engineering and design to translate complex data workflows into fast, reliable UI, with real scope and a clear technical direction from day one.
