The role

Summary

A Staff Software Engineer role within Airwallex's Information Security team, focusing on developing cutting-edge AI tooling to protect global payment infrastructure. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced technical skills to build security automation, manage log pipelines, and drive innovative solutions that protect over $200 billion in payments and 300,000 companies.

What you'll do

AI Tool Development: Lead the end-to-end development of AI-powered security tools and applications from conception to implementation

Incident Response Support: Develop ad-hoc tools for threat hunting, remediation, and comprehensive security scanning

Infrastructure Management: Build, monitor, and maintain complex infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters, serverless workloads, and ETL pipelines

Automation Strategy: Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement automation opportunities that enhance security processes

Security Collaboration: Partner with product engineering teams to drive security outcomes, including automated patching and risk mitigation services

Team Development: Mentor and support the growth of junior Software Engineers within the Information Security team

Programming LanguagesProficiency in at least one scripting language (Python) and one systems programming language (Golang, C/C++)

Cloud InfrastructureExtensive experience with modern cloud infrastructure, including data pipelines, serverless workloads, and Kubernetes

Education

Academic QualificationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field

Experience

Professional Experience8+ years of professional software engineering experience with proven track record in production environments

Project ManagementDemonstrated ability to work autonomously, delivering high-quality projects on time and with minimal supervision
