Summary

Atlan is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead their Data Platform team, focusing on building a sophisticated AI-ready context foundation. The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can design scalable platform primitives, drive high-performance team development, and shape critical infrastructure for AI-powered enterprise applications.

What you'll do

AI Context Foundation: Lead the design and evolution of an AI-ready context store across structured, unstructured, vector, and graph systems
Platform Primitive Development: Drive end-to-end delivery of complex platform capabilities including high-scale ingestion, multi-tenant isolation, and search APIs
Technical Leadership: Engage deeply in architecture and systems design, guide distributed systems tradeoffs, and participate in critical technical decisions
Team Scaling: Build and mentor high-performing engineers and managers, define engineering metrics, on-call practices, and operational excellence

Distributed SystemsExpertise in cloud-native architectures and high-availability platform design
Infrastructure DesignExperience building data ingestion frameworks, metadata platforms, and multi-tenant systems

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

Platform LeadershipMinimum 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, with 3-5 years in engineering management roles
Scale ExperienceProven track record of building and scaling complex distributed systems
