The role

Summary

Cohere is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Deployment Engineering team in the EMEA region, focusing on scaling the North platform's enterprise AI deployments. The ideal candidate will drive technical implementations, mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, and play a crucial role in delivering AI solutions to enterprise customers.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers across EMEA, driving professional growth and technical excellence
Platform Deployment: Manage end-to-end deployment of North platform in private cloud and on-premises enterprise environments
Customer Success: Take ownership of technical implementation and delivery, ensuring successful customer onboarding and satisfaction
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to shape enterprise AI delivery strategies
Infrastructure Optimization: Develop and implement scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources, optimize performance for OpenSearch, databases, and Kubernetes services
Process Development: Build scalable processes and technologies to support rapid organizational growth

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureAdvanced expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with hands-on enterprise software deployment experience
Container OrchestrationProven experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
Performance OptimizationStrong skills in optimizing infrastructure performance, including OpenSearch, database, and Kubernetes service configurations

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Leadership ExperienceMinimum 5 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated leadership in managing engineering teams
Enterprise DeploymentSubstantial experience deploying enterprise software at scale in complex environments
Team ManagementProven track record of managing engineers in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments
