The role

Summary

Cursor is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer for their Infrastructure team to drive critical cloud and networking foundations. The ideal candidate will own key infrastructure components, including Kubernetes clusters, geo-deployment architecture, edge security, and cost optimization strategies that enable the company's rapid growth in developer tools.

What you'll do

Kubernetes Management: Own and operate production Kubernetes clusters with comprehensive service mesh, scaling, and ingress capabilities

Geo-Deployment Architecture: Design and implement robust geo-replicated service deployment strategies across multiple cloud regions and providers

Edge Security Infrastructure: Develop networking and security layers to protect against abuse, manage rate limiting, and optimize traffic routing

Cloud Cost Optimization: Build attribution systems, identify infrastructure waste, and optimize cost-reliability tradeoffs across cloud spending

Compute Platform Unification: Define and implement a standardized container orchestration strategy for consistent and reliable deployments across teams

What we look for

Technical

Cloud ExpertiseExtensive experience with AWS or comparable cloud providers, focusing on VPC networking, EKS, and IAM/account management

Kubernetes OperationsProven experience building and operating production Kubernetes clusters at scale, including service mesh and multi-region deployments

Network ArchitectureDeep understanding of edge networking, CDN/WAF architectures, and infrastructure-level traffic management

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Infrastructure Engineering5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or site reliability engineering

AWSComprehensive knowledge of AWS cloud services and networking

KubernetesAdvanced expertise in Kubernetes cluster management and deployment
