Summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js/TypeScript to join their globally distributed engineering team. You'll build scalable backend systems for their all-in-one payroll and HR platform serving 150+ countries, working with cross-functional teams to develop robust APIs and features that impact millions of workers worldwide. Requires 8+ years of backend development experience with strong PostgreSQL and high-volume system optimization skills.

What you'll do

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless user experiences

Product Planning Participation: Contribute input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle from discovery to deployment

Feature Development and Enhancement: Develop robust new features and APIs while continuously improving industry-leading products

Bug Resolution: Identify and fix bugs efficiently at 'Deel Speed' to maintain high system reliability

Customer-Centric Development: Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering and customer-focused development

System Architecture Design: Design scalable systems that efficiently manage rapid growth and increasing demands

Performance Optimization: Optimize systems for large transaction volumes, handling concurrency, idempotency, and performance under load

Database Management: Handle query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling with PostgreSQL expertise

API Security Implementation: Build secure APIs with proper input validation, JWT authentication, and queue-based scalability
