The role

Summary

Deliveroo is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join their dynamic data team in London, focusing on developing clean, well-documented datasets and optimizing data infrastructure using tools like Snowflake and Looker. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in empowering data scientists and business users by transforming and modeling complex data sets.

What you'll do

Data Transformation: Develop and maintain SQL data transformation scripts to create clean, tested, and well-documented datasets
Data Modeling: Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure source data modeling meets downstream requirements and achieves denormalized and aggregated output datasets
BI Tool Management: Surface intuitive datasets in Looker and optimize its adoption across the business, supporting approximately 1,500 active users
Data Infrastructure: Work with data scientists and analytics engineers to improve data accessibility and usability

Technical

SQL ProficiencyAdvanced SQL skills with ability to create complex queries and data transformations
Cloud Data WarehousingExperience with cloud-based MPP data warehousing platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
Data ModelingStrong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts

Education

Relevant DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 3+ years in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or BI Engineering
