The role

Summary

Docker is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for their Data Insights team to drive strategic analytics and product decision-making. The ideal candidate will apply advanced statistical techniques to extract actionable insights from product usage data, working closely with cross-functional teams to inform business strategy and feature development.

What you'll do

Product Analytics & Experimentation: Analyze user behavior data, design and measure product experiments, and develop key performance indicators for Docker's product features.

Strategic Insights & Reporting: Generate actionable insights for Product Managers and Executive Leaders, creating deep-dive reports on critical business trends and strategic initiatives.

Technical Execution & Modeling: Apply statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to solve business problems, design data visualizations, and ensure data quality and integrity.

Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams, define data requirements, and mentor junior analysts on best practices in data analysis and visualization.

Technical

Programming LanguagesExpert proficiency in SQL, Python or R with statistical analysis libraries

Data ToolsExperience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and visualization tools (Sigma, Tableau, Looker)

Statistical MethodsAdvanced knowledge of regression, hypothesis testing, time series analysis

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred

Experience

Industry Experience5-6+ years in Data Scientist or Product Analyst role, preferably in technology or SaaS

Experiment DesignProven experience in designing, launching, and analyzing A/B tests and product experiments
