The role

Summary

Docker is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for its Supply Chain Security group to develop and secure container ecosystem solutions. The ideal candidate will build scalable microservices, implement security policies, and collaborate on evolving Docker's registry and SaaS offerings with a focus on developer-first security approaches.

What you'll do

Cloud Infrastructure Development: Develop, deploy, and monitor microservices and serverless components in AWS cloud infrastructure
Automation Tooling: Build and improve automation tooling including GitHub Actions, Argo CD, and Grafana dashboards
Performance Engineering: Tackle high-performance engineering challenges to deliver container images and metadata efficiently and securely
Security Policy Management: Design and enforce security and compliance policies across delivery pipelines
System Reliability: Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, debug production issues, and drive continuous improvement of system reliability

What we look for

Technical

Cloud Infrastructure6+ years experience building, deploying, and monitoring microservices on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Programming LanguagesProficiency in modern programming languages, with primary use of Go
Database ManagementKnowledge of relational and non-relational databases in high-volume environments

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Software Engineering PracticesStrong understanding of code review, source control, CI/CD, and testing methodologies
Remote CollaborationComfortable working autonomously across distributed, remote teams

Go ProgrammingStrong proficiency in Go programming language
Cloud ServicesExtensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services
Microservices ArchitectureProven ability to design and implement microservices-based systems
