The role

Summary

Docker is seeking a highly strategic VP of Infrastructure to lead the Bridge engineering organization, responsible for driving the development of critical platform capabilities across billing, identity management, data, operations, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will proactively design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade infrastructure that supports Docker's next phase of growth and innovation in container technology.

What you'll do

Strategic Leadership: Define and own long-term technical strategy for Bridge engineering organization, aligning platform capabilities with Docker's product roadmap and growth objectives.

Platform Architecture: Architect scalable, highly available infrastructure spanning billing, identity management, data pipelines, and core platform services with enterprise-grade capabilities.

Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing organization of 30+ engineers and managers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer empathy.

Operational Excellence: Establish robust operational practices ensuring platform reliability, security, and compliance across all Bridge systems with comprehensive monitoring and incident response procedures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams to translate business requirements into durable platform capabilities and enable complex enterprise solutions.

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureDeep background in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and platform engineering at scale (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Programming LanguagesProficiency in modern programming languages like Go, Python, Java, and cloud data technologies

Enterprise SystemsExpertise in billing systems, identity management, and enterprise IAM concepts (SSO, SAML, OIDC, RBAC)

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Leadership Experience12+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in an executive-level engineering leadership role (VP or equivalent)

Platform ManagementDemonstrated track record of leading platform or infrastructure organizations of 20+ engineers across multiple functional domains
