The role

Summary

Gecko Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer for their Infrastructure team in New York City, focusing on cloud platform engineering and government cloud environment management. The ideal candidate will develop robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, automate complex cloud deployments, and create scalable, compliant infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms.

What you'll do

Cloud Architecture Strategy: Own and evolve cloud architecture strategies for single-tenant government cloud environments across multiple platforms
Infrastructure Automation: Develop robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules and shared libraries to abstract cloud environment complexities
DevOps Optimization: Work with Cloud Platform team to improve CI/CD, authentication, and permission management systems
Cross-Platform Standardization: Create abstractions that simplify cloud deployments across different environments, reducing cognitive load for developers

What we look for

Technical

Cloud PlatformsProven experience with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
Infrastructure as CodeDemonstrated expertise in Terraform or equivalent IaC technologies
ContainerizationProven experience with Docker and containerized application development

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience

Cloud EngineeringMinimum 3-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps roles
Government CloudExperience with government or highly regulated cloud environments is a plus
