The role

Summary

Hopper is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team developing their innovative Hotels Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) fintech product. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, manage partner integrations, and leverage AI to scale engineering output across a small, dynamic team in the travel technology space.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead a compact engineering team of approximately 3 engineers, focusing on high-leverage output through AI tooling and strategic prioritization
Product Platform Development: Architect, develop, and rollout the Hotels CFAR platform, including APIs, SDK layers, pricing infrastructure, and payout systems
Partner Integration Management: Own end-to-end partner integration processes, from technical scoping and solution design to deployment and ongoing relationship management
Technical Leadership: Serve as the senior technical voice in partner conversations, translating complex technical requirements and ensuring alignment with product strategy
Scaling Infrastructure: Drive foundational work to enable scalable partner growth, including development of self-serve onboarding tools and partner management portals
Technical Mentorship: Foster technical excellence through architecture reviews, mentorship, and elevating the capabilities of senior individual contributors

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

B2B Platform LeadershipProven experience leading engineering teams building B2B/B2B2C platforms with external partner integrations
Partner-Facing Technical LeadershipDirect experience in running technical solution calls, scoping integrations, and managing partner relationships
Fintech/Transactional ExperienceFamiliarity with fintech, insurance-adjacent products involving money movement, refunds, and pricing engines
