The role

Summary

Mural is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Canvas Core team, responsible for building and maintaining the foundational platform powering their visual collaboration platform. The ideal candidate will drive performance, reliability, and innovation in the core editor, developing APIs and features that enable seamless remote collaboration and cutting-edge visual thinking experiences.

What you'll do

Platform Development: Research, design, and implement features for the Mural canvas platform
API Design: Create developer-friendly APIs to enable collaboration, integrations, and AI capabilities
Technical Leadership: Lead technical projects, mentor team members, and contribute to team processes
Performance Engineering: Optimize system performance, reliability, and user experience
Testing and Documentation: Design and implement automated testing and comprehensive documentation strategies

What we look for

Technical

JavaScript/TypeScript3+ years of experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript
Web TechnologiesProficiency in React, Node.js, and modern web frameworks
System DesignExperience designing scalable, high-performance systems

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience

Production Software3+ years building and shipping large-scale production software
Technical Project ManagementProven experience planning and delivering technical projects iteratively
