Summary

OpenAI is seeking a Software Engineer for its Cyber Frontier team to develop advanced AI security products. The role involves building innovative systems that help trusted defenders understand and respond to cyber threats while ensuring the responsible management of frontier AI models in security-sensitive environments.

What you'll do

Technical Roadmap Development: Define and execute the technical roadmap for Codex Cyber's security products, including evaluations, safeguards, and deployment decisions.
Cyber Use Case Analysis: Collaborate with trusted defenders and customers to understand cyber use cases, evaluate risks, and prioritize product and research initiatives.
Model Training and Access Management: Shape cyber-specific model training and access patterns, including data collection, evaluations, validation, and deployment criteria.
Capability Measurement Systems: Build and validate systems for measuring cyber capabilities, monitoring misuse risks, and demonstrating the effectiveness of safety protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with multiple teams including Safety, Research, Security, Legal, and Communications to advance company-wide cyber priorities.
Research Translation: Transform frontier cyber research into launch-ready tools, operational playbooks, and robust infrastructure for security products.
