Summary

Perplexity AI is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design and manage complex cloud architectures supporting AI-powered answer engine technologies. The ideal candidate will architect scalable, secure cloud infrastructure across multi-tenant and enterprise environments, leveraging advanced networking and Kubernetes expertise to support Perplexity's innovative AI platform.

What you'll do

Cloud Infrastructure Strategy: Own the technical roadmap for agent-driven cloud infrastructure management, defining long-term architectural direction and scaling strategies.

Network Architecture: Design and operate Perplexity's cloud networking fabric, including VPC architectures, private connectivity, and multi-region peering with hyperscalers.

Compute Platform Scaling: Architect and scale Kubernetes/EKS compute platforms to efficiently serve online and background AI workloads across diverse computational environments.

Security and Isolation: Build and maintain secure deployment topologies for multi-tenant, single-tenant, and customer-owned cloud environments with robust identity and policy controls.

Operational Automation: Develop automation, tooling, and runbooks to standardize day-2 operations, ensuring predictable provisioning, upgrades, and incident response.

Container OrchestrationExpert-level experience with Kubernetes/EKS, including multi-cluster, multi-region, and multi-account configurations

Infrastructure as CodeProficient with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 7+ years of industry experience in building and operating production cloud infrastructure

System DesignProven track record of designing complex cloud migration and infrastructure projects
