Summary

Plaid is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Network Enablement and Access (NEA) organization, overseeing a 50+ person engineering team focused on building and maintaining financial data integrations. The role involves driving technical strategy, managing engineering managers, and leading AI-powered transformation of network connectivity and intelligence platforms.

What you'll do

Strategic Leadership: Set engineering strategy for Network Enablement and Access (NEA) in collaboration with Product Area Lead, balancing product delivery with foundational technological investments across eight teams
Team Management: Directly manage six engineering managers, focusing on coaching, performance calibration, and developing management talent
Technical Direction: Own technical direction for NEA's platform, including integration frameworks, automation infrastructure, ML/data pipelines, and customer-facing surfaces
Talent Acquisition: Drive recruiting efforts, set hiring standards, own pipeline health, and make final hiring decisions for 10+ open roles
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner extensively with product, data, operations, and business teams to align on roadmap priorities and strategic tradeoffs

Platform DevelopmentExpertise in building scalable technical foundations that create compounding returns across engineering teams

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Engineering ManagementMinimum 5+ years in engineering management, with 2+ years leading large engineering organizations (40-50+ people) at director level or equivalent
Technical Leadership10+ years of overall software engineering experience with proven track record of strategic technical decision-making
