The role

Summary

Quora is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Ads team to drive innovative advertising technology at a global scale. The role involves developing mission-critical online ad platforms, working across cross-functional teams to create data-intensive applications that generate revenue while maintaining high-quality user experiences.

What you'll do

Project Execution: Drive projects from initial concept through to production using the full technology stack
Ad Platform Development: Architect, design, and implement features for mission-critical online ad platform at massive scale with data-driven iteration
Feature Innovation: Identify high-impact features that align with engineering and revenue goals, providing clear rationale for technical decisions
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, engineers, and data scientists to prototype, implement, and analyze functionality impact

What we look for

Technical

Programming ProficiencyExcellent proficiency with Python or similar programming languages
Backend SystemsKnowledge of backend storage systems like MySQL, HBase, Memcached, or Redis
Frontend TechnologiesFamiliarity with React, JavaScript, TypeScript
Distributed SystemsExperience with large-scale distributed systems

Education

Educational BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience5+ years of full-time product development experience building consumer or enterprise web products
Advertising Domain2+ years of industry experience in online advertising or related area
