The role

Summary

Replit is seeking a Senior DevEx Engineer to accelerate engineering velocity by optimizing developer workflows, tooling, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a force multiplier who can improve code quality, build processes, and developer productivity across a complex, polyglot technology ecosystem.

What you'll do

Codebase Optimization: Maintain and evolve complex TypeScript monorepo, Go services, and npm packages

Build Pipeline Management: Own and optimize build and test pipelines to minimize build times and improve developer iteration speed

Code Generation: Drive code generation and type-safe interfaces across service boundaries

Code Quality Enforcement: Set and maintain code quality standards using automation tools and custom rules

Developer Onboarding: Streamline development setup and improve onboarding experience

AI Platform Collaboration: Partner with AI team to improve internal AI platform and code generation strategies

What we look for

Technical

Advanced ProgrammingSenior-level expertise in TypeScript, Go, and/or Nix

Build SystemsProficiency in modern build tools like Vite, webpack, esbuild

Developer ToolsExpertise in linters, formatters, testing frameworks, and code generation tools

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred

Experience

Developer ProductivityProven track record of improving developer productivity at scale

Monorepo ManagementExperience managing large-scale codebases and complex development environments
