The role

Summary

Rescale is seeking a systems-oriented Backend Software Engineer to join their innovative digital engineering team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining critical platform components, including identity management, cloud workstations, and workflow automation, while supporting the company's mission to transform product development through intelligent automation and applied AI.

What you'll do

End-to-End Delivery: Own complete delivery of core functionality for Rescale customers and rapidly iterate on new product ideas
Automation Development: Build and maintain high-quality automation for testing and building the main customer-facing platform
Platform Component Management: Develop and maintain critical product areas including identity management, elastic cloud workstations, and workflow automation

What we look for

Technical

Backend Systems2+ years of experience building and operating performant, non-trivial backend systems in production
Web PerformanceExpertise in web performance optimization, including ORM and database profiling
Cloud ServicesExperience in deploying and scaling web applications using cloud services
Application SecurityStrong understanding of application security principles

Education

Computer Science DegreeBS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Production SystemsDemonstrated experience in building and maintaining production-grade backend systems

Backend DevelopmentStrong backend software engineering skills with ability to build scalable systems
Cloud TechnologiesProficiency in cloud service deployment and management
