Summary

Sentry is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Event Streaming Platform team, responsible for managing a globally distributed team that processes billions of events daily. The ideal candidate will drive technical vision, team development, and system reliability while enabling scalable, high-performance streaming infrastructure for developer insights.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead a globally distributed team across multiple regions and time zones, managing engineers of various seniority levels

Technical Vision: Drive the evolution of Sentry's event streaming platform, contributing to system architecture and making critical technical decisions

Team Development: Nurture engineers through coaching, mentorship, and strategic career development initiatives

Platform Architecture: Collaborate with product engineering teams to build scalable APIs and developer-friendly infrastructure primitives

Performance Management: Ensure reliability, performance, and successful delivery of the team's technical roadmap

Technical

Distributed SystemsExtensive experience with backend, distributed systems, and infrastructure engineering

Streaming TechnologiesFamiliarity with streaming systems like Kafka, Flink, Beam, Spark Streaming

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

Engineering Management4+ years of engineering management experience, including leading teams of 10 or more engineers

Technical LeadershipProven track record of delivering multi-year engineering initiatives in leadership or tech lead roles
