The role

Summary

Sentry is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Issue Workflow team, responsible for developing and maintaining the company's core product experience. The ideal candidate will combine technical leadership, product insight, and team development skills to drive innovation in developer monitoring tools.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for Sentry's highest-trafficked product surfaces, including issue details, issue search, and alerts
Technical Guidance: Provide hands-on technical and product guidance, including code reviews, architecture discussions, and problem-solving support
Strategic Planning: Define team direction, set clear plans, delegate effectively, and ensure smooth execution of team objectives
Customer Insights: Directly engage with Sentry's customers to understand product usage, identify pain points, and drive product improvements
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across multiple disciplines to develop and deliver optimal solutions for the Issue Workflow team

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesStrong experience with Python, TypeScript, or similar languages
Product DevelopmentProven experience in owning and maintaining significant product areas end-to-end

Education

Technical BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Engineering ManagementMinimum 2 years of engineering management experience
Professional Engineering8+ years of professional engineering experience
Product ExperienceExperience with customer-facing products, preferably in developer tools
