Summary

Observe by Snowflake is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, build, and operation of scalable cloud infrastructure supporting their AI-powered observability platform. The ideal candidate will drive architectural improvements, enhance reliability, and elevate operational excellence across development and production environments.

What you'll do

Cloud Infrastructure Leadership: Lead design, build, and operation of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure in AWS for a high-scale observability platform

Architectural Improvement: Drive enhancements in reliability, performance, scalability, and operational visibility across development and production environments

DevOps and Automation: Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and platform automation to improve productivity and deployment safety at scale

Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and lead efforts to mitigate reliability, performance, and security risks

System Resilience: Design and implement infrastructure patterns ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and operational resilience

Incident Management: Play a key role in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements to drive systemic reliability enhancements

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure strategy supports long-term platform evolution

Engineering Mentorship: Mentor and support other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and operational best practices

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureExpert-level experience in designing and operating production systems at scale with deep ownership of reliability

Container OrchestrationStrong experience with Kubernetes or Nomad, including architectural decision-making and operational tuning

Infrastructure as CodeHands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, with focus on scalable system design

Programming SkillsStrong programming skills in Go, Python, with proven track record of building automation and infrastructure systems

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Infrastructure Engineering5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevOps roles

Technical LeadershipExperience driving cross-team technical initiatives and influencing infrastructure best practices
