The role

Summary

Senior OLTP Architect at Snowflake's Solution Engineering organization, responsible for architecting and delivering transactional database solutions built on the Snowflake Data Cloud. This strategic role bridges product, engineering, and field teams to drive customer adoption of Snowflake Postgres capabilities across the Americas, requiring 5+ years of OLTP database architecture experience with strong presentation skills for technical and executive stakeholders.

What you'll do

Deliver Technical Architecture Expertise for Snowflake Postgres: Serve as the principal technical authority on Snowflake's Postgres capabilities and transactional features, articulating strategic advantages and technical applications to prospective clients. Conduct comparative analyses with competitor OLTP database offerings (Oracle, SQL Server) to position Snowflake's value proposition to technical decision-makers and stakeholders across the Americas region.
Design and Architect Transactional Solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and field organizations to architect OLTP solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud. Translate client-defined success metrics and requirements into technical designs, addressing database migration strategies, indexing approaches, and transactional workload optimization specific to enterprise customer environments.
Lead Proof of Concepts and Technical Validation: Partner with Snowflake account teams and customer advocates to define, execute, and deliver Proofs of Concepts that validate Snowflake's OLTP capabilities. Ensure successful technical outcomes with comprehensive executive summaries, business value assessments, and demonstrations that quantify the benefits of adopting Snowflake's transactional platform for existing Postgres and legacy OLTP environments.
Address Technical Objections and Gap Analysis: Identify, analyze, and reconcile discrepancies between Snowflake's transactional methodologies and client-specific requirements. Provide comprehensive technical resolutions to customer concerns regarding database architecture, performance, security, privacy, and governance considerations for OLTP workloads on the Data Cloud platform.
Deliver Custom Demonstrations and Presentations: Develop and deliver bespoke demonstrations and technical content tailored to address specific client requirements for transactional features and use cases. Present to both technical and executive audiences through whiteboarding sessions, formal readouts, and interactive demos showcasing Snowflake's competitive advantages in the OLTP space.
Create Technical Thought Leadership Content: Develop and disseminate technical content to facilitate organizational growth and industry thought leadership, including blog articles, conference presentations, technical notebooks, demonstrations, and educational materials. Establish Snowflake's position as a leader in cloud-native OLTP architecture and transactional database innovation.
Support Sales Progression and Customer Adoption: Convey the strategic advantages and technical application of Snowflake Postgres capabilities during customer engagements and follow-up activities to facilitate sales progression. Function as a trusted technical consultant who accelerates customer adoption and drives commercial outcomes through deep architectural expertise and consultative guidance.
