Summary

Snowflake is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead product security initiatives, designing and implementing robust security architectures for their multi-cloud data platform. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can embed security controls, automate protection mechanisms, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance overall system security.

What you'll do

Security Architecture Design: Design, implement, and evolve security architecture and controls across Snowflake's multi-cloud products with a secure-by-default approach

Threat Modeling: Lead and drive comprehensive threat modeling, secure design reviews, and security architecture assessments for complex system landscapes

Security Automation: Build and scale security tooling, automation, and services to increase developer autonomy and improve security outcomes

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to embed security into design, development, and delivery workflows

Risk Translation: Translate complex security risks into actionable, pragmatic guidance that supports safe and efficient engineering practices

Security ArchitectureExpertise in designing secure systems, threat modeling, and security controls for distributed, multi-component environments

Programming LanguagesProficiency in SQL, Python, Go, or other programming languages for security tooling and automation

Security DomainsDeep knowledge in AppSec, identity management, authentication, authorization, and secure architecture principles

Education

Computer Science DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

Security EngineeringMinimum 6+ years of experience in security or software engineering with hands-on technical leadership

System Design ReviewProven experience reviewing design and implementation of distributed systems, including third-party API integrations
