What you'll do.
Join Snowflake's Growth & Product Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer to design and deploy full-stack systems powering product-led growth, user onboarding, and AI-driven engagement across the AI Data Cloud. You'll work across React/TypeScript frontends, Go/Node.js backends, and Java platform integrations while driving feature adoption, experimentation infrastructure, and Cortex Code AI capabilities. This role requires 6+ years of full-stack distributed systems experience with strong product thinking, data fluency, and proven expertise in A/B testing and feature adoption mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Feature Design and Delivery: Design, build, and ship full-stack features and platform infrastructure that power Snowflake's user-facing product journeys, translating user requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Frontend Development and UI/UX Implementation: Build and improve frontend experiences using React and TypeScript, including in-product onboarding flows, contextual prompts, and interactive UI components that drive user engagement and feature discovery.
- Product-Led Growth (PLG) Strategy Implementation: Drive product-led growth initiatives end to end, collaborating with product managers and data scientists to identify activation bottlenecks, build self-serve capabilities, and expand product adoption across the user base.
- Cortex Code Integration and Intelligent Experiences: Build full-stack systems and contextual experiences that drive discovery and adoption for Cortex Code, including intelligent prompts, starter workflows, and workspace integration points that guide users through AI capabilities.
- Experimentation and A/B Testing: Drive product experimentation end to end, formulating hypotheses, collaborating on test design, implementing frontend and backend variants, and analyzing performance metrics to guide product decisions.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze user behavioral data and platform telemetry to evaluate experiment outcomes, assess feature adoption patterns, and inform technical architecture and product roadmap prioritization.
- Backend Services Architecture and Scaling: Build and scale critical backend services supporting trial activation, user onboarding, account provisioning, learning environments, and anti-abuse safeguards using Go, Node.js, and Java.
- Production Debugging and Incident Response: Debug and resolve complex production issues across distributed services, relational databases, and platform infrastructure, maintaining system reliability and performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact product features and platform improvements.
- Engineering Excellence and Culture: Contribute to a strong engineering culture through code reviews, technical design discussions, mentoring junior engineers, and establishing operational excellence practices.

Full-Stack Distributed Systems
Expert-level experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems in production environments, with demonstrated ability to work across frontend and backend layers.
Frontend Development
Strong foundation in React and TypeScript, with hands-on experience building responsive user interfaces, component libraries, and interactive experiences at scale.
Backend Services Development
Production experience building backend services in Go, Java, or Node.js/TypeScript, including REST/gRPC API design, microservices architecture, and service scalability.
Relational Databases and SQL
Hands-on expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), SQL query optimization, schema design, and database performance tuning in distributed environments.
A/B Testing and Experimentation Frameworks
Practical experience implementing and analyzing A/B tests, feature flags, canary deployments, and experimentation infrastructure in production systems.
Product Analytics and Data Querying
Comfortable working with data, querying analytical data stores using SQL, understanding product telemetry, metrics definition, and using data to evaluate user behavior and system performance.
API Design and Integration
Strong experience designing and implementing REST and gRPC APIs, managing API versioning, backwards compatibility, and cross-service communication patterns.
Debugging Complex Systems
Strong coding and debugging skills with proven ability to navigate complex full-stack system architectures, identify root causes, and resolve production issues efficiently.
Education
Computer Science Degree
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related computer science field preferred.
Equivalent Practical Experience
Equivalent practical software engineering experience demonstrating mastery of full-stack development, distributed systems, and production system design.

6+ Years Full-Stack Development
Minimum 6+ years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems and user-facing products in production environments.
Cross-Layer System Architecture
Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing solutions across frontend, backend, and database layers, understanding tradeoffs and performance implications at each layer.
Product Development and User Engagement
Hands-on experience with product-led growth (PLG) mechanics, user onboarding flows, feature adoption strategies, and engagement optimization.
Data Platform Experience
Working experience with data platforms, analytics systems, or cloud data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
Cloud Platform Deployment
Production experience deploying and scaling applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred), including infrastructure as code and containerization.

AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER FOR THE GROWTH & PRODUCT PLATFORM TEAM, YOU WILL:

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WITH:
6+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed or user-facing systems in production environments, with experience across both frontend and backend.
A strong foundation in full-stack development. You should have experience with frontend technologies and frameworks like TypeScript and React, and experience building backend services in languages like Go, Java, or TypeScript/Node.js.
Strong product sense and interest in product-led growth (PLG), user onboarding, and feature adoption mechanics.
Hands-on experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, or feature-flagging workflows.
Comfort working with data: querying analytical data stores (SQL), understanding product telemetry, and using metrics to evaluate user behavior and system performance.
Experience with distributed systems, REST/gRPC APIs, relational databases (such as PostgreSQL), or data platforms.
Strong coding and debugging skills, with the ability to navigate complex full-stack system architectures.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
