The role

Summary

Join Snowflake's Product Security team to architect and implement foundational security systems that protect the Data Cloud platform. This Software Engineer role focuses on designing multi-cloud security solutions including secret management, key management, identity, and authorization systems that scale across the enterprise. You'll work on mission-critical security infrastructure used by thousands of engineers while embracing AI-native thinking and experimental methodologies in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

What you'll do

Design and Scale Multi-Cloud Security Systems: Architect and develop robust software solutions for secret management, key management, identity, and authorization systems that operate seamlessly across AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms. Ensure systems scale efficiently to support Snowflake's hyper-growth trajectory while maintaining security posture across distributed environments.
Build and Maintain Security Infrastructure Tools: Create comprehensive security tools that define, monitor, enforce, and detect security policy violations across the organization. Develop observability and alerting mechanisms to identify anomalies and potential security incidents in real-time.
Implement Developer Autonomy and Security Education Programs: Design processes and tools that enable developer independence while maintaining security standards. Create secure development frameworks, coding guidelines, and educational materials that help engineers understand and implement secure design practices throughout their development lifecycle.
Define Security Infrastructure Direction: Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to set technical direction for fundamental security infrastructure used across Snowflake's engineering organization. Influence architectural decisions that impact thousands of engineers and millions of customers.
Ensure Secure Product Development: Partner with product teams to embed security controls into development workflows. Help Snowflake developers build inherently secure products within the multi-cloud Data Cloud platform.
