Summary

Snowflake is seeking a Staff Applied AI Engineer to lead high-impact AI programs for strategic customers. The role involves technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and driving AI solutions from prototype to production, with a focus on innovative AI implementations and customer success in the Cortex AI team.

What you'll do

Customer Program Leadership: Own the full lifecycle of complex, multi-engineer AI engagements from scoping and architecture through deployment, monitoring, and handoff.
Team Development: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 2-4 Applied AI Engineers, including code reviews and skill development.
Technical Solution Development: Design, iterate, and ship high-quality ML pipelines and agentic AI solutions, translating business objectives into robust, scalable implementations.
AI Production Optimization: Implement and optimize AI solutions in secure, large-scale production environments, defining evaluation frameworks and safety guardrails.
Strategic Advisory: Serve as a senior technical advisor to customer leadership, articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders.

Technical

Machine Learning TechnologiesProven experience building and productionizing applications using LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows
MLOpsHands-on experience with MLOps lifecycle, including model deployment, monitoring, and evaluation in cloud environments
Data Science ToolsProficiency with core data science libraries like pandas, numpy, and Snowpark

Education

Advanced DegreePreferred: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related technical field

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Technical LeadershipDemonstrated experience leading technical projects, setting technical direction, and driving delivery
