The role

Summary

Sunday is seeking a Developer Infrastructure Engineer for their Robot Platform team, responsible for building foundational systems and developer infrastructure that enable rapid and safe software delivery to their home robotics fleet. The ideal candidate will design and optimize build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and over-the-air update mechanisms for cutting-edge robotic software deployment.

What you'll do

Build System Management: Own and evolve build systems to maintain speed, hermeticity, and reliability as the codebase grows

CI/CD Pipeline Design: Create pre-merge and post-merge pipelines that detect regressions and generate trustworthy release artifacts

Artifact Pipeline Development: Design packaging, versioning, and signing pipelines for system software, application code, and ML models

Development Environment Management: Define and maintain consistent development containers and dependency management

Over-the-Air Update System: Build and operate OTA systems with staged rollouts, canary deployments, rollback, and verification mechanisms

Developer Experience Optimization: Reduce time-to-deployment and provide clear feedback mechanisms for development workflows

Technical

Build Infrastructure5+ years of experience in build infrastructure, developer tooling, CI/CD, or software delivery

Build SystemsHands-on experience with modern build systems like Bazel, Buck, or CMake at scale

Container TechnologiesWorking knowledge of Docker/OCI and image management strategies

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Software DeploymentProven experience deploying software to production environments with versioning and rollback strategies

Multi-language DevelopmentComfortable working with systems and scripting languages (C++/Rust/Go and Python)

Build SystemsExperience with modern build systems like Bazel, Buck, or CMake at scale
